Lean All the Way Back
Doubt and Fear can rob you of your peace of mind

We’ve said amen when the preacher declared,” With God All things are possible,” but after a few disappointments that scripture may seem like just a cliché’. The transitions that take place in a single parent’s life are constant and unpredictable.

In order for everything to be possible, one has to be “With God.” There are numerous books, songs and messages that try to lighten the path to true fellowship with God. We tend to make it harder than it really is.

A relationship with God is a prerequisite to being “With God.” In a nutshell, all you need to do is interact with God daily. Talk to Him and allow Him to talk to you. Open yourself to His wisdom and guidance. Give Him all of you, don’t hold back anything, and I can guarantee that you will be “With God.”

You may be thinking, that’s easier said than done, but if we’re being real, we have to admit that we do whatever we really want to do. You will have to rearrange your priorities.

God must be first, this is not negotiable. He’s not going to demand that position, but if you fail to put Him first, you have settled for less.

Now let’s consider that “All things are possible.” Come on brothers and sisters in Christ, you must know that lining yourself up with His will is the key. His will governs His favor. There are no shortcuts to living for Jesus, and you cannot escape the growing pains.

Sometimes depending on the severity of the test you’re facing, you may loose your mind for a second and expect God to follow your instructions.

Allow me to share an important fact with you that you may need to stamp on your forehead, “God is Sovereign.” This means, He’s not a puppet. He’s not standing by awaiting your orders, and He hasn’t solicited your advice. So just trust Him, He’s well able.

Doubt and fear can rob single parents of their peace of mind. They have been very instrumental in the breakdown of families. Ask God for faith to help you remember the promises in His word. Spend time in prayer and use God’s word to back up your petition to Him. He sees and knows the struggles you face, and the hopelessness you feel when it seems there’s no relief in sight. He is touched with the feelings of your infirmities. He will never turn His back on you, so lean all the way back.
