Dating rules have changed, but the jury is still out
on whether or not the changes are for the best. Ladies
are now the pursuers instead of the pursued. This change
will affect the dynamics of relationships and marriages.
This new way of finding a mate goes against the process
laid out in scripture. Don’t get it twisted, the
Bible is our blue print for life. His word is irrefutable,
so it’s pointless to second-guess it.
God is a God of order. As believers, we are striving
to be more like Him; so, it’s in our best interest
to maintain order in every aspect of our lives--especially
in our personal relationships.
Our first love should be Jesus Christ, and we should
be consumed with pleasing Him. If He isn’t first
in our lives, then we are setting ourselves up for failure.
Sometimes we are blind to the idolatrous relationships
we have with our significant others.
The promise in the word of God is that if we seek Him
first, He will add all these things to us. What are
all these things? Having God’s favor in your life
brings tremendous blessings.
Our heavenly father does all things well; so, if He’s
purposed to bless you with the gift of a husband or
wife, it will come to pass. Men were designed to be
leaders, and, believe it or not, God knew what He was
doing. It’s not up to females to critique the
order God gave to us. It’s God, Man, Woman, child.
Society
will lead women to believe that it’s alright to
take an aggressive role in starting a relationship.
You can not be so desperate that you are willing
to step out of the will of God.
The problem here is patience. Women who do not want
to wait for the man to be the initiator may be establishing
a pattern for the future that does not line up
with God’s order.
Enough of the women’s lib mentality. It’s
time to go back to God’s word and follow what
it says. Men should also be obedient to God’s Word in this regard. Dating
should not be treated like it’s a buffet, where
one man is involved with six or seven women at the same
time. Let's switch to God’s design for a relationship
and reap all of the blessings He’s
promised.
